Top 3 Tuesday - Movie Scores: Alan Silvestri

Previously on Top 3 Tuesday I wrote about the movie scores of Hans Zimmer, James Horner and Thomas Newman. For this week's Top 3 I'm returning to that theme to feature another wonderful composer - Alan Silvestri.

Silvestri began composing for film at age 21 and he's made a career out of creating beautiful scores for a whole range of different movies. It seems his talent for composing is endless!

Here are my three favourite Alan Silvestri movie scores for you to listen to. Sit back, relax, and enjoy! :-)

3) The Avengers Theme - I thought The Avengers was a lot of fun! Silvestri's music captures that element of excitement, as well as the grandness of a team of heroes coming together to save the day.

2) Back to the Future Theme - I'm sure everyone who reads this blog knows of my love for the BTTF Trilogy. Every time I listen to Silvestri's score I'm thrown straight back into the time-travelling adventure of those films.

1) Forrest Gump Suite - Wow. This score has got to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created. It touches on every emotion that Forrest himself feels in this epic film. I can't listen to it without feeling his hope, his sadness, his longing. It gives me goosebumps.
